Siem Reap

Siem Reap is located in Northwestern Cambodia and the gateway to the world-famous Temples of Angkor, including Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is on the list of the New7Wonders of the World; it’s beautiful, breathtaking and for sure a must visit in Siem Reap.

But Siem Reap has more to offer; impressive colonial buildings, the national museum, authentic shops, a great offer for local Khmer but also Western, Chinese and Japanese food, a city with a buzzing Pub Street, many (night)-markets, daytrips and hiking tours, cooking and yoga-lessons, different spa’s, silk farms and much more. If you want to go out for some beautiful nature and scenery, the great lake Tonle Sap and the Kulen Mountain are definitely worth a visit.

  • Visiting the Beatochello concert
This free concert is performed by Dr. Beat Richner, the founder of several children’s hospitals in Cambodia. They founded an art school and public school followed to offer free education. A music school and theatre school were next and finally, for the kids who wanted more, the circus school. Today more than 1,200 pupils attend the public school daily and 500 attend the alternative schools.
